Hey friends its been quite awhile since i've blogged, so I figure its a nice time to catch everyone up. Recently I had the opportunity to return to SYTYCD s8 as an ALL-STAR and got to dance with the new incredible talent. Every year the show brings out new eager and hungry kids, and this year these kids came out here to TAKE OVER!!! I had missed some of the episodes because I was working in TORONTO on COBU 3D. But I had gone to the reliable and trusty youtube and did my research. ummmmm...MELANIE and MARKO the statue piece choregraphed by TRAVIS WALL- was my favorite piece I saw, and might be my favorite piece ever showcased on SYTYCD! the fluidity and clarity of the lines and emotions was stunning. This number is what really got me excited to come back to the states and meet the cast.
My first week back as an ALL-STAR I was paired up with RICKY (yes, the young danny tidwell) with a piece choreographed by TYCE DIORIO. I must say TYCE DIORIO has always been such a pleasure to work with. He has great energy and such positive feedback he never lets his stress take over a room, he's very calm and adds humor to lighten the mood. The piece he choreographed for Ricky and I was to one of my favorite songs ever, I had always wanted to do a dance to it PRECIOUS THINGS, our dance was based around my nightmare that had felt so real I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or awake. And RICKY actually played the whole of my nightmare. The moment Ricky started moving with me I could feel his energy surrounding me right away. He dropped his cuteness and silliness in an instant and really engulfed himself into the character. Every time he lifted me or embraced me I could feel him getting stronger, I feel he really let go and just lived in this number. The moment we got to that stage we said "WERE STRONG this is our STAGE together" and we danced and he had me every step of the way. SO PROUD OF HIM... RICKY is a LIGHT and he will go so far.
The following week I was paired with MARKO, which i had many many friends on facebook and twitter telling me that this would be the perfect match for me. So when I found out who I had the opportunity to partner with, of course i was GLEEKED if you will ;)!!!!! So not only was i getting to dance with the MAN from my favorite STATUE piece, but SONYA was doing the choreography!!!!! WHAT????? How can I handle all this HAPPINESS, EXCITEMENT and JOY in one week??? SONYA has taking me on a many of rollercoasters, she's been there to help me open up my heart and let go of the pain, she's shared knowledge of LIFE and conquering my FEARS, and helped me grow into a woman. And still today acts as a huge mentor in my LIFE. This week for me came with many more battles to fight again, this number was about SADNESS. And how to many of times a day we send out negative energy to loved ones, friends, and those we don't even know for no apparent reason. We say hurt full things, snicker, talk under a breathe and for what???? To make someone HURT, send a message, feel bad!!! WHy, do we do this?/ Its really hurting us and the other in the end? We do these awful things so often we don't even realize how much its done. And when by chance we do notice the pain we've caused, we have TO MUCH PRIDE, to simply say SORRY!!! The best example of this is MOTHERS. WE so quickly jump to blame mom, or yell back at mom, or tell her see doesn't know or understand, and yell at her to stop talking. But why, the mother has been your start and just cares!!! we all need to put down our PRIDE and realize THE MOTHERS LOVE IS ENDLESS . SO EMBRACE HER AND SHARE A LIFE TOGETHER. but not only mothers but EVERYONE. SHOW SUPPORT AnD STOP JUDGING WE ARE ALL HERE JUST TRYING TO LIVE OUR LIFE.
Performing this number with MARKO, had an amazing impact on my life. NOt only was he an incredible reliable partner, but we opened up our lives together and allowed for ourselves to become vulnerable to the piece and let our hurt we've caused others out and released it from our lives on to that stage. "THe battle was not the DANCE but the REGRET we had from our selfless acts." Marko and I grew that night into better people and I hope to take that experience with us into the future forever. I love you guys so much and hope to always improve on myself everyday, and to be a good example in not only dance but as a person in my daily life patterns.
THIS SHOW TAKES PEOPLE ON A JOURNEY AND IT NEVER STOPS> Ill take this season with me forever! and am so happy I have had the chance to share these moments with you guys! thank you so much for your support and love all thru out! SENDING LOVES AND HUGS!!! ;)
